VIDEO: Michael Chavis Destroys Home Run to Extend Red Sox' Lead Over Blue Jays
By Michael Luciano

The Boston Red Sox had to be pulling their hair out wondering if they were going to be able to replace Dustin Pedroia in their infield long term. Now, based on how Michael Chavis has performed so far, it looks like they have a keeper in the infield. The white-hot rookie blasted his ninth home run of the year off Toronto Blue Jays starter Edwin Jackson to give Boston a 6-2 lead.

2nd straight game with a homer and the 9th of the season for the #RedSox's top prospect. Follow/watch live: https://t.co/95R210eaUi pic.twitter.com/06zPXzdhK7
The Red Sox' top prospect has always had the raw power to make some noise, but has questions about his glove and his ability to make consistent contact. The early returns, however, have shown that Chavis has fixed almost all of the issues. That's scary for the rest of the AL East.

When you match up a guy who is playing on his 14th team in Jackson with a scalding hot rookie who has power to all fields, this is what happens.
