VIDEO: Michael Conforto Appears to Be Knocked Out Cold After Collision With Robinson Cano
By Sean Facey
Head injuries are scary to see in any sport, and this one from Thursday's game between the New York Mets and the Washington Nationals is no different. Mets outfielder Michael Conforto had to leave the game after he collided with second baseman Robinson Cano while chasing a pop-up down the right field line.
Conforto's head slammed into Cano's shoulder and he seemed to go limp for a moment as he fell to the ground during the play.
Conforto had played a critical role in getting the Mets back into the game after an early 4-0 deficit, slugging a three-run home run in the third inning.
Keon Broxton replaced the 26-year-old in right field.
