VIDEO: Michael Conforto Extends Mets' Lead Over Marlins With 2-Run Blast
By Sean Facey
Jordan Yamamoto is having a rough day at Citi Field. First, the rookie pitcher served up an early two-run bomb to All-Star slugger Pete Alonso. Now, Michael Conforto has taken him deep for another two-run blast to give the New York Mets a 4-1 lead over the Miami Marlins.
Conforto's 24th home run of the season barely made it, traveling just 333 feet to get out of the park. The hit actually had an expected batting average of just .010, according to baseball savant.
With that being said, it still got out and it counts all the same. The Marlins have dug themselves into an early hole and are going to need some help on offense to get out of it.
