VIDEO: Michael Conforto Rips Massive 2-Run Blast off Shane Bieber as Mets Take Lead Over Indians
By Scott Rogust
The New York Mets and Cleveland Indians are two of the hottest teams in Major League Baseball since the start of the second half of the season. So of course they met for a three-game series this week. With the game tied at 2-2, Mets outfielder Michael Conforto stepped up to the plate against Shane Bieber, with Joe Panik on second base. Conforto would take a inside pitch from Bieber to deep right field to take a 4-2 lead over Cleveland.
That was a rocket, and Conforto knew it would reach the seats from the moment it cracked off his bat. It was his 27th homer of the year, and he now has 75 RBI.
Shane Bieber learned a valuable lesson on Tuesday, and that's never pitch inside to Conforto, unless you want to watch his home run trot.
