VIDEO: Michigan State Holds Moment of Silence for Cassius Winston's Brother Before Sunday's Game
By Adam Weinrib

The Michigan State Spartans family encountered an entirely unexpected and horrifying tragedy this weekend, when the younger brother of star point guard Cassius Winston was struck and killed by an Amtrak train. Winston's brothers in arms had to recover from the news swiftly and play a home game against Binghamton on Sunday night, and the contest started appropriately with a dignified moment of silence for the deceased.

In the aftermath, Sparty raced out to a monster lead over the visitors after composing themselves. In the face of adversity, they took plenty of inspiration early.
Winston, who initially wasn't expected to play, instead started at point guard, drilling a three during MSU's 29-7 run in the opening minutes.

I'm told that, as of now, he is playing.
He has the option, tho, of pulling himself from lineup at anytime if he decides he can't go ahead with the game.
Michigan State has opened the season as the No. 1 team in the country, but fell in their showcase opener at MSG against No. 2 Kentucky.
The impact of a victory in Sunday's game against the Bearcats and a strong Winston performance, however, will dwarf any potential AP Poll impact.
