VIDEO: Miguel Sano Rips Solo Shot as Twins Reduce Yankees' Lead in ALDS Game 1
By Jerry Trotta
The Twins just won't go away! Rocco Baldelli's side needed to respond in the top of the sixth frame after Gleyber Torres put the Yankees in front with a two-run double down the left field line in the bottom half of the fifth. Well, that message apparently didn't need to be relayed to slugger Miguel Sano as he lead off things with a laser that just evaded a leaping Aaron Judge in right field for a solo home run to cut the Yanks lead to 5-4.
That's definitely an out or double in the league's 29 other stadiums, but Sano won't at all care for that logic.
Sano's round-tripper marks the second time in Game 1 that the Yanks have been done dirty by their short porch in right field as Nelson Cruz uncorked one into a similar spot back in the third inning.
What a Game 1 we have been treated to thus far. Let's hope the drama extends into the closing innings.
