VIDEO: Mike Ford and Aaron Judge Destroy Home Runs to Give Yankees the Lead Back Over Mariners
By Adam Weinrib

Mike Ford's not supposed to hit lefties. He's...he's actually not supposed to hit anyone, really. But since this is 2019 and he's a Next Man Up, it turns out Ford's bat possesses the type of magical powers previously bestowed upon Gio Urshela and Cameron Maybin. Just a few minutes after James Paxton surrendered a 2-0 lead on a mislocated fastball, Ford grabbed it right back, annihilating a high, hard one.

With Luke Voit ready to return at Triple-A, Ford is making an excellent case to hang out in the Bronx right up until rosters expand. He's carried the Yankees through a West Coast slog and homered off Clayton Kershaw. What is happening?
But 3-2 wasn't enough. Oh, no. After Tyler Wade spanked a double and showed off his wheels, and DJ LeMahieu knocked him in, Aaron Judge dropped the hammer on what was swiftly becoming a disastrous inning for the M's.
Major League Baseball really let Aaron Judge get hot. So stupid. #Yankees pic.twitter.com/IbxM9BFG1w

And he pulled it. Again. That's six on the West Coast road trip. That's a lot.
