The Yankees entered Friday night's game one home run shy of the 300 mark. Well, fast forward to the sixth inning and they had 304, courtesy of Mike Ford who launched a two-run shot to give the Yankees the record for most homers in a single season, swiping it from the Twins who hit their 303rd of the year on Friday.

One of the most intriguing storylines down the stretch of the season will be whether the Twins or Yankees emerge a home run champions, with both teams already far surpassing the previous MLB record.
With less than three games left to play, this race is coming down to the wire, but Yankees sluggers are showing no signs of slowing down.
