VIDEO: Mike Francesa Absurdly Claims He's Known Robinson Cano Since He Was a Baby
By Parker White

It's been a rough go of it for second baseman Robinson Cano in a New York Mets uniform. He's hitting just .241 with 3 home runs, 13 RBI and a .658 OPS, only fueling the fire that great second basemen are cursed when they come to Queens. WFAN Radio host Mike Francesa is warming up to that idea despite the fact that he loves Cano and thought the fit would work. However, that's not the most notable thing Francesa said on the occasion-- take a listen:
Mike Francesa has known Robinson Cano since he was a baby. Mike spent a lot of time in the Dominican Republic in the early 80s. pic.twitter.com/8CNYWyqmqi

You've known Cano since he was... a baby? How many trips to the Dominican Republic were you taking in the 1980s? Of course, this isn't the first time ol' Mike has referenced knowing Baby Robby.

Yes, Cano's father, Jose, signed with the Yankees as an amateur free agent and pitch in the minor leagues for them in the 80s, so maybe Francesa met Cano's pops. But does that mean you've known Robinson since he was a baby?
Yeah, probably not.
Cano did live in New Jersey for three years as a young teenager, but that's not baby age, and again, I doubt Francesa was keeping tabs on the Cano family at such a time. It's all a bit bewildering.
