VIDEO: Someone Actually Asked Mike McCarthy During Cowboys Press Conference if 'Dez Caught it'
By Michael Luciano

The Dallas Cowboys officially named former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy to the same position, and his introductory press conference was already filled with a tenuous, awkward moment. McCarthy was asked for his take on Dez Bryant's famous non-catch in a playoff game that sent Dallas home due to the ridiculous explanation of what a catch actually was. McCarthy was somehow able get Cowboys writers rolling in the isles at his answer while stopping short of saying "Dez caught it."
"Did Dez catch it?"

Mike McCarthy was the coach who challenged that, now infamous, play in 2015. Hear what the new Dallas Cowboys head coach had to say about it today.@KVUE #Cowboys pic.twitter.com/KDex61khxK
Nailed it.
McCarthy went 135-85-2 as head coach of the Packers, including a 7-3 record against the Cowboys. Such heartbreaks like the Dez non-catch and the Aaron Rodgers-led last-second comeback in which the Packers took down a 13-3 Cowboys team at home are some of the most heartbreaking endings in Dallas history.
Still, McCarthy has one major thing going for him. He isn't Jason Garrett, and that's enough to win over the local media on Day 1.

McCarthy managed to find a clever way to dance around the question he knew would inevitably get asked and got some laughs. It remains to be seen if he lasts as a head coach, but McCarthy has already done a good job of winning the press conference in Dallas.
