VIDEO: Mike Piazza's Comments Definitely Played a Role in Carlos Beltran Stepping Down From Mets Job

Once the news dropped of the Houston Astros' sign-stealing scandal, you knew plenty of old school ballplayers were going to be furious. Former New York Mets slugger Mike Piazza most certainly is no exception. When interviewed on Thursday about the big news in the MLB right now, which has brought a dark cloud over the Astros and Red Sox, Piazza didn't mince words. And with Carlos Beltran officially stepping down as manager, you have to figure his words played a role in things.

Straight and to the point. Hard to argue or disagree with Piazza in this case. There is NO room for this in baseball, which is why A.J. Hinch was fired by the Astros, Alex Cora and the Red Sox parted ways, and now Beltran is out in Flushing.

Piazza made it clear he thinks all of this has been a "sad episode for the game" and that players in his day would never put up with this kind of crap. Well, the scandal has now seen three managers lose their jobs. Unreal.
