VIDEO: Mike Tauchman and Gio Urshela Add to Yankees' Lead With a Pair of Towering Home Runs

Every now and again, an MLB player goes on a torrid streak that seems to defy all logic. Yankees infielder Gio Urshela is currently in the middle of one of those streaks. Despite coming into the season with eight career home runs in three seasons, Urshela just launched home run No. 16 on the season, and his fourth in the last 24 hours, off of Toronto starter Thomas Pannone to give the Yankees a 5-0 lead over the Blue Jays.

Urshela, who was always more well-known for his defense as opposed to his bat, is now hitting .323 with 42 extra-base hits. Not too shabby.

But the Yanks weren't done laying it on their AL East foes just yet.

Mike Tauchman also got in on the action, hitting his 11th home run of the season as the Yankees jumped out to an 8-0 lead by the third inning.

Tauchman had never hit an MLB home run and was considered an afterthought in Triple-A prior to joining the Bombers. He's opening eyes across the league with his play of late.
