VIDEO: Mike Tauchman, DJ LeMahieu and Didi Gregorius All Destroy Homers in 3rd to Give Yankees Lead
By Adam Weinrib
The New York Yankees can hit baseballs at the major league level. Though O's starter Asher Wojciechowski dominated the NYY through the first two innings, lulling them to sleep, three separate Yankee sluggers took him well deep in the third, changing his personal narrative a bit. First came Mike Tauchman, who hit his first pair of road homers on Monday night, and added a third for good measure in this contest.
Not satisfied, DJ LeMahieu came up as the very next batter, gave Wojciechowski a two-strike head start, then tattooed one to dead center and gone.
Not bad.
Then, the Yanks were feeling generous -- Aaron Judge spotted the O's a strikeout, giving them momentary pause before Didi Gregorius unleashed the longest jack of this inning (or any other).
That's 35 at Camden Yards for the Bronx Bombers this year to extend their MLB record for any team at any visiting ballyard. Will they keep it going? I wouldn't rule it out.
