VIDEO: Mike Trout Clobbers Grand Slam and 2-Run Shot by the 4th Inning Against Toronto
By Max Scoli
Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout entered today's contest against the Toronto Blue Jays ranking second in the American League in home runs with 20. But the seven-time MLB All-Star managed to add another in the second inning against Aaron Sanchez, bringing him just one away from tying Edwin Encarnacion for most in the AL... for a good 30 seconds.
Unfortunately for Blue Jays fans, one deep ball just wasn't enough him. Trout launched a second homer, a grand slam no less, in his second at-bat for round-tripper No. 22 of the season.
That's a cool 6 RBI before the end of the fourth inning for Trout, as his excellent season continues to keep the Angels afloat.
Trout has been particularly hot in his last 15 games, batting .275 with 6 long balls and 12 RBI entering tonight's game.
If the two-time AL MVP award winner continues to hits like this, he may have to make some room in his trophy case for another MVP plaque.
