VIDEO: Mike Yastrzemski Knocks First Home Run of Big League Career
By Adam Weinrib
A return home to visit the team that drafted him worked wonders for Mike Yastrzemski's bat Friday night. The grandson of Red Sox Hall of Famer Carl has been hitting the ball solidly since being promoted to the bigs last week, hitting .273, but he finally got that first dinger out of the way against the O's Andrew Cashner, sparking the Giants early.
Unfortunately, this game turned after Young Yaz's shot tied things up, and the O's ended up taking home the battle of the unimpressive squads. But you can never take away this first-of-many dingers from the kid! Congrats!
