VIDEO: Mike Zimmer's Weak Handshake With Matt LaFleur After Vikings-Packers Proves He's a Poor Sport
By Jerry Trotta
Week 16's edition of Monday Night Football garnered a significant amount of hype, and rightfully so. The Packers were traveling to Minnesota with a chance to wrap up the NFC North, and the Vikings had a chance to play spoiler and make things interesting in Week 17. In the end, Green Bay walked away with a 23-10 victory in a fairly uneventful game. The Packers didn't play all that well until the second half, but the real story here was the Vikings' sheer no-show. Mike Zimmer clearly wasn't fond of his team's efforts and the HC all but officially snubbed Matt LaFleur with this weak sauce handshake after the game.
What the heck is that? Though it wouldn't please him, even Bill Belichick would stop for an awkward, brief conversation after a loss.
We get that Zimmer was bitter, and there's no love lost between the Vikings and Packers, but he violated so many unwritten rules of mannerly football etiquette.
LaFleur is a rookie head coach who just won the NFC North. Give him the congratulations and respect he deserves.
This was poor from Zimmer.
