VIDEO: Mitchell Trubisky Actually Threw a Checkdown on 4th and 23 vs the Chiefs
By Scott Rogust
We're going to put this lightly. The Chicago Bears were completely outclassed by the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. More importantly, quarterback Patrick Mahomes showed why the Bears should have taken him over Mitchell Trubisky in the 2017 NFL Draft. With Chicago down 23-3 and facing a fourth and 23 with less than eight minutes remaining, one would expect they'd be airing it out in hopes of hitting the jackpot. Instead, Trubisky threw a checkdown to Eric Saubert that netted them all of seven yards.
Look, we get it. Bears head coach Matt Nagy probably called it to prevent the Chiefs offense from having great field position. But this doesn't give the Bears fan base much confidence, especially when Patrick Mahomes is trolling them and the front office right to their faces!
Not a good night for the Bears, just days before Christmas.
