Javier Baez is one of the best baseball players to ever come out of his native Puerto Rico. With his electric glove and massive swing, Baez has become a fan favorite in Chicago. Like many baseball players who come from other countries, it was a grind for Baez to get where he is today. In this recent video released by the MLB, Baez takes you through his journey of being awarded the nickname "El Mago."

If that doesn't give you chills, we don't know what will. Javy has come a long way from top prospect to struggling major leaguer to bonafide star.

When "El Mago" first came to the states he struggled to adapt, but he worked on his skills and quickly progressed, eventually getting the call to join the Cubs. Despite his initial hiccups, he hasn't looked back.

The man has built an MLB resume that includes a World Series ring, a Silver Slugger award and two All-Star Game appearances.

But in the end, he just wants to play baseball. That's what El Mago is all about.
