Kansas City Royals starter Danny Duffy held the Boston Red Sox offense in check the first time around, but after hitting Jackie Bradley Jr with a pitch in the third inning, the reigning AL MVP Mookie Betts took a hanging changeup and belted it over the left field fence to tie the game.

Yeah, I'd say moving Betts back to the lead off spot is paying dividends.

That long ball led to a rally that resulted in two more runs, giving Boston a 4-2 lead. It was none other than the hot-hitting Rafael Devers who came through with the big swing. What else is new?

With manager Alex Cora going with a committee of pitchers in a bullpen game on Thursday, they might need a few more homers from Betts and their lineup to help keep their pitchers confident and comfortable with a secure lead.
