VIDEO: Nationals Take Early Lead on Astros and Justin Verlander With Anthony Rendon's 2-Run Double
By Thomas Carannante
What a start to Game 2 of the World Series for the Washington Nationals. Taking on Justin Verlander, the Nats knew they were facing a tall task considering the Houston Astros badly need a win to even up the series before the Fall Classic heads to the nation's capital. But the relentlessness of the top of the Nats' lineup continues to be a problem for Houston. After Trea Turner walked and Adam Eaton singled, Anthony Rendon crushed a double off the left field wall to bring them both in.
It's 2-0 Nationals and the Astros are already playing from behind.
Verlander got out of the jam with Rendon on second, but it's safe to say the Nats are far from done after doing that much damage this early on in a seemingly must-win game for Houston.
