VIDEO: Nats Manager Dave Martinez Throws Level 10 Tantrum Over Swing and Gets Ejected at Citi Field
By Parker White

Washington Nationals manager Dave Martinez is a pretty mild-mannered guy, but with his talented club underachieving and on the verge of getting swept in a four-game series against the New York Mets (who have problems of their own), you can imagine the frustration he feels. That spilled over in the eighth inning of Thursday's game, and the Nats skipper had himself a little tantrum that led to his ejection after a fairly standard check swing. Take a look:

Wow. Martinez went all Lou Piniella by kicking dirt on home plate and slamming his hat to the ground. This tirade had to be more than just arguing about the check swing on Howie Kendrick. He's trying everything to get his team fired up, and maybe acting a fool will fuel this club.
#Nationals manager Dave Martinez ejected after Howie Kendrick is tossed for arguing a check swing called third strike. Nats trail #Mets 3-1 in 8th. @WTOP

Of course, if my job was on the chopping block, I'd do exactly what Dave Martinez just did. I mean, if the Nats don't come back and win, it wouldn't come as a shock if he was canned immediately after this game.
