VIDEO: New Angle of Hunter Pence Inside-the-Parker Shows Mookie Betts Did Basically Nothing
By Joey Mauceri

The Boston Red Sox continued their skid on Tuesday night, as they dropped another game to the Texas Rangers, falling further behind in the Wild Card chase. The enduring highlight of the Rangers' 9-5 victory was Hunter Pence slugging a rare inside-the-park home run. A long fly ball somehow ended with Brock Holt sitting in the stands as Pence rounded the bases, no backup in sight. And though the bounce was bizarre, where was Mookie Betts? A new angle of the home run shows that Betts did...well, very little to help.
Here's the best view of that inside the parker. Betts doesn't move on contact and Holt putting his leg over the wall is just bizarre. Probably would have been the outcome given how perfectly that balls rolled, but jeez. pic.twitter.com/FD7OgHP5s4

I think it goes without saying that that is a pretty abysmal effort by Betts. In fact, it might just be a benchable one. A superstar of Mookie's caliber showing that he simply doesn't even care enough to run after a ball in the outfield for a team that is struggling is pretty irksome.
If Alex Cora sees this angle of the effort or lack thereof by Betts, it's hard to imagine there will not be any consequences.
