The Yankees starting rotation has been a major topic of discussion heading into their showdown with the Minnesota Twins and the "Bomba Squad" in the 2019 ALDS. However, things could totally change when the Yankees bring in their Wild Card X-factor to start Game 2. That player is...Hideki Matsui? Well, if you would believe this News12 anchor, the 45-year-old former left fielder and DH who hasn't played in the MLB since 2012 is going to feature prominently in the Yankees' plans this postseason:

It's obvious that he meant Masahiro Tanaka, but the fact that several people had to mess up catastrophically for this to happen is a minor miracle.
With all of the injuries the Yankees' staff has had in the last few months, it wouldn't really be that surprising if AJ Burnett or Joba Chamberlain came in for a start or two. Maybe Brian Bruney and Phil Coke can help in the bullpen?

Considering Chance Adams and Nestor Cortes were trusted to eat up valuable innings on a Yankees team that was held together with string and duct tape, Matsui coming out of retirement to toss some gas would be the least surprising development.
