Nick Castellanos continues to prove that he was the best trade deadline acquisition of the season. And plays like this by the spark plug of the Chicago Cubs prove just that. During Wednesday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds, Castellanos hit a liner to left-center field, and greedily tried to take second base. Even though the throw by left fielder Phillip Ervin beat Castellanos by a long shot, he miraculously avoided the tag from Alex Blandino.

Oh, and on Kyle Schwarber's fly out just a couple at-bat's later, Castellanos ran home, and avoided yet another tag, this time at the plate.

Nick Castellanos may very well go down as one of the best trade deadline acquisitions in MLB history, especially if the Cubbies can make a splash in October, and plays like this will definitely make the highlight reel.
