VIDEO: Nick Markakis Records 1000th Career RBI and Follows Up With Home Run
By Scott Rogust

There was a bit of history to occur at SunTrust Park on Monday night. Facing off against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves outfielder Nick Markakis recorded his 1,000th career RBI on a sixth-inning single that scored Johan Camargo. Braves fans in attendance acknowledged the career feat by giving Markakis a standing ovation, who tipped his helmet in appreciation.
1,000 RBI! I will never understand the lack of appreciation by the #Braves *twitter* fan base for Nick #Markakis. Thankfully the majority of fans- and certainly all players/coaches etc who are involved in the game- understand just what a great career he’s out together. #ChopOn pic.twitter.com/BZup29fnZk

The veteran outfielder turned back the clock last season by earning a starting nod in the National League All-Star team. Now, he's officially a member of the 1,000-RBI Club.
And he wasn't done for the night, either.

Have a night, Kakes! You won't be forgetting this one anytime soon.
