VIDEO: Nike Releases Awesome Ad Celebrating USWNT's 4th World Cup Victory
By Michael Luciano
The United States Women's National Team became the first ever unit in the history of women's soccer to win four World Cups when they took down Vivianne Miedema and the Netherlands 2-0 for their second consecutive title. In order to commemorate one of the greatest achievements in the history of American soccer, Nike released an ad celebrating the dominance of the 2019 team and their place within the history of women's soccer.
This ad is truly amazing, as it not only showcases the desire for the team to win the tournament, but more importantly, inspire the next generation of both men and women's soccer players in the U.S.
With the men's team still finding their feet under Gregg Berhalter, the women's team has put themselves in a class of their own on the world's stage, breezing through the best teams in the world on their way to another title.
While a 60 second ad could never fully encapsulate how important this win was to further growing the game in America, it sure got the waterworks flowing.
Congratulations to head coach Jill Ellis, captain Megan Rapinoe, star striker Alex Morgan and the United States Women's National Team on their fourth World Cup win and second consecutive triumph.
