VIDEO: Nolan Ryan Comments on Astros Scandal After Leaving Team This Offseason
By Alex Coffman

The Houston Astros organization continues to clean house and try to rebuild after investigations found them guilty of sign stealing. Nolan Ryan, who worked as an executive advisor for former team president and eldest son Reid Ryan, told Fox 26's Mark Berman in November that he was no longer going to be associated with the Astros.
Nolan Ryan reiterates to the media he’s no longer “associated” with the #Astros & doesn’t have a problem with it. Says he’s disappointed at the recent fall out “starting with people that lost their jobs. I really feel bad for them b/c I think they did a good job for the Astros” pic.twitter.com/6ONelyV6sV

Ryan recently reconfirmed the split and indicated it was amicable. He also expressed his disappointment in how the fallout of the scandal has impacted the organization, specifically the firing of some front office members who he thought had done a good job with the team in recent years.
Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan says in a text message he will not continue in his role as an executive advisor to the owner of the #Astros: “I will not be back with the club and will leave it at that.”

With Ryan's son essentially being demoted from team president, Ryan was likely to depart the front office, although the Astros never gave official word of his exit.
The Astros continue to look for solutions in order to rebrand their image after the cheating scandal, but somehow allowing a team legend to leave the organization doesn't seem like the right move to make in doing so.
