VIDEO: OJ Simpson Says Cowboys and Chargers Should Pay Ezekiel Elliott and Melvin Gordon

A newly liberated man, OJ Simpson recently made the curious decision to start a Twitter account where he can post videos, discuss his opinions, and get mercilessly roasted by the entire internet. The disgraced former Buffalo Bills running back hasn't shied away from speaking his mind on social media of late. Now, he's offered some advice to the owners of the Dallas Cowboys and San Diego Chargers: pay your running backs.

Advice, however sage, definitely loses some weight when it comes from OJ. Then again, I certainly wouldn't be one to spurn OJ's "recommendations."

The most interesting tidbit from this video has to be the bizarre transition from football to politics that resulted in Simpson asking that people "don't point the fingers about what somebody once did or may have done." Seems like OJ's been holding on to that one.

As for the actual football content of OJ's message, the value of star running backs is probably the most hotly contested debate of the NFL offseason. With Ezekiel Elliott and Melvin Gordon each holding out of training camp, fans and prognosticators alike are having a tough time coming to a consensus about what the players deserve.

Running back is a physically demanding position, rendering many who play the position unable to stretch their primes into their 30s. While some argue that this means players like Elliott and Gordon deserve to be compensated handsomely before their bodies deteriorate, others claim this is only proof that it's not wise to pay a premium for aging stars at the position.

At least now we know what OJ thinks about the dilemma.
