VIDEO: 'Old' Andre Iguodala Provides Injury Update and Admits His Career is Almost Over
By Charles Nason
Golden State Warriors veteran Andre Iguodala hinted at his retirement in an interview with the Golden State media. Along with a brief update on his recent calf injury and availability for the NBA finals, Iguodala joked about his age and how his career is nearing its end.
Iguodala, in his 15th NBA season and sixth with the Warriors, has not made any formal statements about when he plans to retire. With three NBA championships and a Finals MVP award from 2015, Iguodala is one of the more accomplished veterans still in the game.
There has also been no clear update on Iguodala's injury in terms of whether or not he will play in Toronto this Thursday. The 35-year-old vet has been withheld from practice the past several days in order to get treatment on his calf.
Iguodala played in 68 games in the regular season, averaging 23.2 minutes per game. Even though that seems like a heavy burden for the 35 year-old, he hasn't shown many signs of slowing down.
Iguodala is signed with Golden State through the 2020 season, earning over $17 million in what could be his final season should he choose.
