VIDEO: Old Man Pirates Broadcaster Makes Tone-Deaf Comments About Ronald Acuña's Jewelry
By Seth Carlson
Pittsburgh Pirates broadcasters have been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons. Last week, one made insensitive comments about Reds infielder Derek Dietrich's grandfather after Dietrich hit a huge home run against Pittsburgh. Now, the same guy appears to be back for more insulting, senseless jabs at opponents. This one was directed at Atlanta Braves slugger Ronald Acuña Jr.
Back in the day jewelry wasn't allowed I guess? Ah, even worse -- ALL THAT STUFF!! Even better is the fact he called him "that young player." Acuña is one of the top sluggers in the game bud. Get it together.
Also, we're not entirely sure, but did it sound like he was insinuating that the pitcher threw at Acuña because of the jewelry? We sure hope not, because that would easily be the most ludicrous take of 2019.
