VIDEO: Orioles Outfielder DJ Stewart Gets Nailed in Face by Double in Absolute Comedy of Errors
By Adam Weinrib

It doesn't get much more '2019 Orioles' than this. We feel terrible for DJ Stewart, freshly promoted from a stint in the minors following an IL trip, but this is tremendous content. The O's outfielder sprinted for a looping Mike Ford popup, dove too early, and took the business end of an official major league baseball on his noggin.

It's wet at Camden Yards. It just is. That's factual information.
It left a mark. It also left a blemish on his well-being.
Let's...let's take a closer look, shall we?
There was like a full 45 seconds of the crowd going “OHHHH,” and “OOOOH” and “AHHHHHHH” after this play. Emotions appeared to go from angry to confused to even more confused to concerned back to confused. https://t.co/vmzoh6JQW4

We didn't have to, but...we did anyway.
Stewart has nothing to be ashamed of here. He's now part of a Hall of Fame blooper reel treasure, a moment that will far outlast this somewhat feckless Orioles rebuilding season. There are only two months of baseball left in Baltimore, and while the team is running out the clock, this clip will keep the other 25 men on the roster warm.
