VIDEO: Red Hot Oscar Mercado Destroys 3-Run Home Run to Put Indians on Top
By Chris Pyo

As the Cleveland Indians continue to make one final push towards an AL Wild Card spot, they're getting an immense amount of production from an unlikely source. Rookie Oscar Mercado has been on fire for the Tribe, and he continued his hot streak with this three-run homer to break open the Indians-Phillies game Sunday night, just down the road from where Baker Mayfield was operating.

Matt Vasgersian is having himself a good night, based on that call. That crack off the bat of Mercado was practically as loud as the ensuing fireworks.
Mercado, who was called up to the majors in early May by the Indians, has slashed a .379/.419/.828 line in his last seven games to go along with three home runs and eight RBI. This is exactly what the Indians need at the moment, if they want any shot of surpassing the Tampa Bay Rays for that coveted second Wild Card spot.
If the Tribe holds on, this victory would even things up.
