VIDEO: Packers Backup QB DeShone Kizer Fires Touchdown Pass to Rookie WR Darrius Shepherd
By Michael Luciano
It's that time of the year again. It's the beginning of the preseason, so Green Bay Packers backup quarterback DeShone Kizer is showing off his rocket arm and making some terrific plays. Kizer turned back the clock to his time at Notre Dame, floating a perfect pass to wide receiver Darrius Shepherd. Shepherd made an amazing, twisting catch to secure the touchdown and put Green Bay up 14-7 over the Houston Texans.
Kizer has certainly had his struggles as a pro--he has 24 career interceptiosn against 11 touchdowns--but his arm strength and playmaking on the run is always enough for teams to keep him around as a backup and for him to torch undrafted free agent backups in the preseason.
Kizer is 8-13 with 102 yards, including his latest touchdown to Shepherd.
