VIDEO: Packers WR Trevor Davis Fights off Raiders Defender to Haul in Touchdown Pass From Tim Boyle
By Scott Rogust
The NFL preseason showcases player scratching and clawing for a 53-man roster spot on their respective teams. One person fighting for a 2019 roster spot is Green Bay Packers wide receiver Trevor Davis. During Green Bay's game against the Oakland Raiders, Davis matched up with defensive back Nick Nelson. Quarterback Tim Boyle lobbed up a pass for Davis, who completely Moss'd Nelson for the touchdown.
Davis made a name for himself as a return specialist since he was drafted back in 2016. With an influx of talent coming in this offseason, Davis was a fringe-roster player. Yet, Davis made the most of his opportunities, as he accumulated 101 yards and a touchdown on six touches.
Trevor Davis is making his case to new head coach Matt LaFleur as to why he's worthy of being on the 53-man roster, and anyone who's checked into the preseason would vouch for the talent the 26-year-old possesses.
