VIDEO: Panthers Fans Might Pass Out After Watching Kyle Allen Miss Wide Open WR on 4th and Goal
By Sean Facey

Panthers fans, avert your eyes. Watching this play might send you into a state of despair. Down late to the Redskins, Carolina had a chance to tie the game on a last-gasp, fourth-and-goal play. Quarterback Kyle Allen ultimately ended up fumbling the ball, but what makes the play so brutal is that he completely missed a wide open receiver before he decided to run backwards 20 yards.

It wasn't some fleeting window of opportunity either. Wide receiver Jarius Wright could have read a book with the amount of time Allen had to throw to him.
Instead of throwing to his teammate, though, Allen just didn't pull the trigger, and it cost them the game. For some reason he was staring down the one wideout on the left side of the field and neglected the four on the right side.
The Panthers were down 8 points on 4th and goal with 30 seconds left.

It was a beautiful play design that succeeded in putting the Panthers in position to score, but they failed to capitalize. As an outside observer, there's not much more that can be asked of a late play call like this.
Fans will lament about this play for the rest of the year, and Allen surely will be kicking himself each time he watches the film.
