VIDEO: Pat Shurmur Responds to Odell Beckham Jr Blasting Him Over Browns Trade
Just when you thought the drama between Odell Beckham Jr. and the New York Giants was done, the superstar decided to throw some haymakers earlier this week. On Wednesday morning, in his first public statements after Beckham's GQ interview hit the newsstand, G-Men head coach Pat Shurmur seemed nonplussed by what was said.
In case you missed what Beckham said in the interview, he basically showed major love to team owner John Mara, but took a shot at Shurmur, blaming his move out of East Rutherford on him.
“I’ll forever have respect for Mr. Mara,’’ Beckham told GQ. “Everything he’s ever done for me, he’s shown nothing but love. But then to be called like that and then be texted by [Shurmur] and be like, ‘Oh, yeah, I heard the news.’ Yeah, you heard the news? It happened because of you. The reason I’m gone is because of you. On the other side of it, I was excited about a new start because I had been — honestly, I had been praying to God the season before this season for a change.’’
Shurmur said he had no reaction to OBJ's comments, but went on to say he hopes he helps the Browns win football games. Giants fans are letting their former star receiver really have it on social media as well. Talk about an ugly divorce.
