VIDEO: Patrick Mahomes' High School Highlight Compilation is Absurd
By Michael Luciano
The legend of Patrick Mahomes, before his days as a Kansas City Chiefs superstar and Texas Tech legend, started in tiny Whitehouse, Texas. The Whitehouse Wildcats were blessed with some transcendental skills at quarterback during Mahomes' tenure with them, as his high school highlight tape shows a player that is quite clearly performing at levels vastly superior to his counterparts.
Mahomes was only a 3-star recruit that, somehow, was considered by 247 Sports to be the 398th best player in the country during his senior year. He eventually hooked up with Kliff Kingsbury in Lubbock, and Andy Reid in Kansas City. The rest, as they say, is history.
With an MVP season, two AFC Championship game appearances, and now a Super Bowl appearance to his name, the Chiefs and its fans are obviously thrilled about the third-year QBs rapid development.
Judging from his high school tape, Mahomes was just as comfortable weaving out of a collapsing pocket and firing a dime on the run back then as he is now.
Even at an early age, Mahomes' absurd arm talent and feel for making big plays was evident to even the most inexperienced of football fans. He'll have a chance to wrap up one of the greatest individual postseasons we've ever seen with some jewelry to wear around his finger in Miami.
