VIDEO: Paul DeJong Knocks Home Game-Winning Run for Cardinals in 10th as Edwin Diaz Blows It Again
By Michael Luciano

New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz isn't exactly having a week to write home about. The former All-Star reliever continued to struggle against the St. Louis Cardinals, as shortstop Paul DeJong won it in the 10th inning after yanking a 98 MPH Diaz heater into left field to put St. Louis up 5-4.

This is a continuation of a game that started Thursday night, in which DeJong homered off of Jacob deGrom. He's been in a groove of late after struggling during a very poor month of May.
Diaz, on the other hand, continues to struggle. After blowing the save Thursday night, Diaz completed the meltdown by losing the game in the tenth. While Jarred Kelenic rakes in the minors for Seattle, Robinson Cano and Diaz keep struggling in New York.
Not everything has someone else to blame.

Edwin Diaz didn’t hold a 2 run lead last night.
Edwin Diaz blew the tied game today.
Edwin Diaz needs to get outs. These are professional baseball players .. not every single thing has to do with coaches. https://t.co/afUvoCNoXm
While he might have been the benefactor of Diaz grooving a fastball down the middle, DeJong's resurgence comes at a time when his Cardinals need it in the worst way.
