By Sam Dunn

Hello, history! The Polar Bear has already accomplished a ton in his rookie season, but tonight's latest magical riff at Citi Field is the best of them all. Already an MLB All-Star and Home Run Derby champ, Alonso was writing a pretty incredible story as it was. But entering the bigs only to immediately assert oneself as a record-setting power hitter than can strike fear in the heart of any pitcher in the game is something special.
With his 42nd HR, @Pete_Alonso20 has set a new @Mets record for HR in a season.
