VIDEO: Phillies' Jean Segura Whacks Marlins' Jorge Alfaro in Face in Bizarre Collision at the Plate
By Sam Dunn

There are few dicier situations in baseball than when a catcher finds himself in the path of a baserunner on his horse and headed for home. Case in point: Miami's Jorge Alfaro, who lost track of the ball and hastily tried to clean things up as Philadelphia's Jean Segura saw an opportunity to score.
A wild play as Segura scores and Alfaro is down.

It's now 9-1, Phillies. pic.twitter.com/zayO1T0fXl
Yikes.
If it looks like Alfaro got hit in the face there, it's because he did. Check it out one more time.

Segura scored and Alfaro was down. Luckily, the catcher earned a modicum of revenge not long after when he clubbed a two-run home run, but this game has been pretty much all Phillies. All told, this is one of those insult-to-injury situations for unlucky Alfaro.
