Chris Archer hasn't had the greatest 2019 campaign with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and things just got worse. Archer started Tuesday's game against the Washington Nationals, and got through the first inning unharmed. However, when warming up prior to the top of the second frame, Archer walked off the mound shaking his head. When meeting with manager Clint Hurdle and the training staff, Archer was subsequently removed from the game.

You never want to see that from a pitcher. As soon as he threw the pitch, you could tell something was wrong.

It was later reported that Archer was dealing with shoulder discomfort, so he'll likely undergo tests to determine the severity of the ailment.

This season, Archer has posted a 3-9 record, along with a ballooned 5.23 ERA. In fact, Archer allowed 112 hits in 118.2 innings this season with the Pirates.

It's unknown what injury Archer might have suffered while throwing warmups, but we will keep you posted once updates are released by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
