VIDEO: Prospects in Nats' Dominican Academy Go Wild After Juan Soto's 2-Run Double off Gerrit Cole

Heartwarming doesn't even begin to describe this moment you're about to see. Sure, Washington Nationals fans were thrilled beyond belief when Juan Soto's 2-run double gave the Nats a 5-2 lead against Houston and Gerrit Cole in Game 1 of the Fall Classic. But, for the team's academy in the Dominican Republic, imagine the reactions seeing their country's hero be a star in the World Series?

That's about as real and pure of a celebration as you'll ever see. With the prospects gathered around a TV to watch the at-bat, Soto delivered. Everyone in the room went nuts.
Soto's brilliance thus far in the postseason has set Washington D.C. on fire, and inspired hope back home in the Dominican Republic to the millions of people watching him. You gotta love it.

Soto won't turn 21 until Friday, and has already established himself as not just the Nationals star of the future, but also the interim.
