VIDEO: Rafael Devers Stays Scorching Hot With 2-Run Shot Against the Tigers
By Jerry Trotta
Only a few players in baseball are as hot as Rafael Devers is at the moment. The Red Sox budding star has been tearing the cover off the ball of late, formulating an eight-game hit streak, with a whopping 10 extra-base hits during that span, coming into Friday's tilt against the Tigers. And in case you were wondering, the young third baseman is still scorching as he delivered a two-run opposite field home run to left field to extend Boston's lead to 3-0 over Detroit.
This marks the second consecutive night that Devers has cranked a dinger, as the 22-year-old is in the midst of a breakout campaign. It was his 16th of the year, and he's providing Eduardo Rodriguez with some early run support.
We're not sure what more evidence opposing managers need to stop pitching to this guy. He's simply mashing everything in sight of late.
