VIDEO: Ramona Shelburne Picks Warriors to Win 2020 NBA Title in Dumbest Prediction Ever

For the first time since 2015, the Golden State Warriors are underdogs again. With Kevin Durant's Achilles tear and possible departure and Klay Thompson's torn ACL, the Warriors will enter the 2019-20 season without two of the three best players from their reign of NBA dominance. But, according to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, they should still be the favorite to win the NBA title next season.

Hmmm.

Shelburne's point, of course, is that the state of the 29 other NBA teams is too uncertain right now to reasonably predict anyone other than the Warriors. She clearly believes that a nucleus of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Andre Iguodala, with a potential return by Thompson in February, is the best bet to take back the crown next season. Perhaps she's banking on All-Star seasons from Kevon Looney (who could still depart this summer) and Quinn Cook.

But really? Without Durant and with an injured Klay, the Dubs' roster will be a shell of its former self. The lack of depth that Golden State has managed to hide over recent years with a lineup of superstars looks like it will finally be exposed next season, as it was when disastrous injuries struck in the NBA Finals. Vegas has the Warriors odds at 11-1 to win it all next year, 6th-best in the NBA.

The Lakers just added Anthony Davis to a roster with LeBron James and appear primed to sign another max player. The Houston Rockets (who took a healthy Warriors roster to seven games in 2018) still have James Harden, Clint Capela, and Chris Paul and are teasing the possibility of adding Jimmy Butler through a sign-and trade, to say nothing of a tough out like the Blazers.

Even if the Warriors make it out of a crowded West, the Raptors (if they keep Kawhi Leonard), Bucks, and 76ers would all likely be favored in an NBA Finals matchup with Golden State-- unless Klay unexpectedly comes back and lights it up.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one, Momo.
