VIDEO: Random Revolutionary War Man From Jason Vargas Clip Finally Explained
By Michael Luciano

At long last, we have some closure. During the Mets' moribund April, a postgame interview with then-Met starter Jason Vargas was interrupted by a man with wispy white hair and a maroon suit jacket that looked more at home with Ben Franklin than in an MLB locker room. We finally have an answer as to who the mystery man is, as he has been identified as Kevin Barnes, who works for the Braves in an unknown capacity. In his youth, he was even a bat boy in the Hank Aaron days.
Our beloved time traveler was a bat boy for the Braves in 1973.

Rather than helping out at the Battle of Bunker Hill, Barnes was employed by his favorite team and able to work side by side with legends like Aaron and Hall of Famers like pitcher Phil Niekro and then-manager Eddie Mathews.
Even with this pretty cut and dried explanation, not all remained convinced that the book on Barnes is fully closed.
Wow... the mystery is solved, incredible. ?

Still convinced he’s a time traveler. ?♂️
While Twitter ran wild with supposed proof that Barnes helped George Washington cross the Delaware, it appears as though he's little more than a boy from Georgia who worked his way up through the ranks with his favorite team.
