VIDEO: Rangers and Angels Held Moment of Silence for Tyler Skaggs Before Tuesday's Game
By Brian Cass
In a heartbreaking story that shocked the sports world, Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs was found dead in his hotel room in Texas while in town for a series against the Rangers on Monday. Everyone around the MLB has expressed their condolences for Skaggs' family and teammates. Before Tuesday's game between the Rangers and Angels, the stadium held a moment of silence in memory of the 27-year-old pitcher after Monday's game was canceled due to his death.
It was unclear if the MLB would even keep Tuesday's game scheduled with Skaggs' death coming just 24 hours prior, but after they announced the game would be played, the Rangers and Angels made sure he was honored.
The Angels did not carry a 25th man on their roster and then brought out his jersey for the pregame.
It's still hard to find the words to describe how the MLB world feels following Skaggs' untimely death, but it's comforting to see so many taking action in making sure he's remembered.
Skaggs would've been proud to see his brothers in unity like this.
