VIDEO: Reds' Amir Garrett Sprints to Dugout to Avoid Confrontation After Whiffing Kyle Schwarber
By Karl Rasmussen
Amir Garrett wears his emotions on his sleeve up on the mound, and the reliever is occasionally unable to hold back his emotions after striking out opposing hitters. Well, after whiffing Kyle Schwarber to end the inning on Wednesday night, the Reds' hurler was visibly fired up, prompting the Cubs slugger to shout towards the mound. Well, instead of engage the altercation and chirp back at Schwarber, Garrett hilariously took off full sprint back to the Reds' dugout.
Clearly he's learned his lesson since the last time he got into an exchange on the mound. That time resulted in a full-fledged brawl between the Reds and Pirates, for which Garrett served a lengthy suspension.
He made the wise choice this time of returning to the safety of the dugout, despite Schwarber's attempt to stir the pot.
