VIDEO: Reds' Luis Castillo Reveals Ridiculous Chains on MLB All-Star Red Carpet
By Max Scoli
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Luis Castillo will make his first ever MLB All-Star appearance this Tuesday, and spent his "15 minutes of fame" in style by showing off some expensive bling on his walk down the red carpet.
Those chains might blind you more than his 98 MPH fastball.
Though most of us haven't paid attention to the silently-surging Reds, Castillo is certainly deserving of this honor. The 26 year-old right-hander has been one of the league's top pitchers in 2019. Thus far this season, the Dominican pitcher holds the second best ERA (2.29) and BAA (.169) in the MLB, to go along with 124 strikeouts in 18 starts. He also earned the NL Pitcher of the Month Award for the month of April, when he maintained a sparkling 1.43 ERA.
In addition to his fastball, Castillo also has a filthy changeup in his repertoire. His ability to keep opposing batters off balance by drastically changing speeds has led to his dominance in the league.
His abilities on the field, coupled with his swag off of it, have easily earned him the right to be the face of the Reds rotation.
