VIDEO: Reds' Rookie Sensation Aristides Aquino Makes MLB History With 10th Home Run in 16 Games
By Karl Rasmussen
There you have it folks, Aristides Aquino has officially etched his name into MLB lore. The Reds' slugging sensation has burst onto the scene, showcasing his power bat virtually every night since his promotion. And he was back at it again Friday night, launching a two-run shot off Adam Wainwright in the sixth inning to become the fastest player in MLB history to hit 10 homers.
It took just 16 games for Aquino to reach double digit home runs at the big league level, continuing his hot streak that saw him club 28 bombs at Triple-A.
It'll be interesting to see how many homers Aquino finishes the year with. He likely won't contain this absurd pace, but he's put himself on the map with his recent mashing spree.
