VIDEO: Reds Turn Cardinals Bunt Into Double Play in Slick Display
By Jerry Trotta

As a pitcher, when your manager asks you to lay down a sacrifice bunt, you better make sure to guide it to an area that ensures the runner makes it to the next base. From the surface, it seems like a simple concept, but time and time again, we see big league pitchers botch the designed play. That was exactly the case with Cardinals young hurler Dakota Hudson on Thursday. He presented the Reds with a perfect opportunity to turn a double play, and Cincy's infield did not disappoint.

Of all the places to direct the bunt, Hudson put it right in Joey Votto's lap. Bunting down the first base line is always asking for trouble, and the vet Gold Glover wasted no time pouncing on the 24-year-old's blunder.
